Introduction to Palliative Care Series

This five week, virtual series will provide an introductory overview of the role of the PSW/unregulated care provider as they join the personal and unique journey of the client and family facing a life-limiting illness. Discussion will include:
– An introduction to palliative care and common terminology
– Reflections on personal beliefs, culture and attitudes regarding death and dying and how they can impact care
– Palliative care assessment tools and legal/ethical issues in end of life care
– Common end of life symptoms and management
– Dealing with loss and grief and the importance of self-care
